Samantha Taylor, a talented photographer, is devastated when her husband suddenly walks out on her. Her concerned magazine boss sends her on an assignment to her old friend's California horse ranch to photograph old-style cowboys.

There, Samantha meets and falls in love with hard-bitten ranch hand Tate. Captivated but intimindated by her beauty and success, Tate is unable to break free from his old-fashioned ways and he too deserts her. Alone and emotionally destroyed, Samantha immerses herself in her work until, on another photo-shoot, she recklessly rides a spirited horse and is left paralysed after a horrific fall.

Now confined to a wheelchair, Samantha returns to her friend's ranch, where a twist of fate reunites her with the handsome Tate. But can they overcome their mutual obstacles to find the true love they both crave?
